Cathy Macfie
CHAIR
Heritage interpretation practitioner (retired); co-author ‘Story of Southland’; interviewer Southland Oral History Project; former Chair of Southland Rural Heritage Trust until assets transferred to Heritage South in 2013. Heritage South trustee since 2012. Current chair of Heritage South. -
Rachael Egerton
TREASURER
Rachael is a professional historian who works as a historic and cultural heritage advice consultant. She has worked in the heritage sector, researching the history of southern New Zealand and advising on heritage management for over 20 years. A founding trustee and former chair of Heritage South she is currently the treasurer. She is passionate about the past and heritage. -
Amy McStay
TRUSTEE
Currently Branch Manager/Principal Archaeologist of NZ Heritage Properties (Invercargill office) with previous experience working at Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga; as a museum curator; archaeologist; research and tertiary education. Amy brings her appreciation of Southland’s diverse heritage and cultural values to Heritage South Trust. -
Anne McCracken JP
TRUSTEE
Anne has volunteer involvement with numerous Trusts and brings a strong understanding of governance to Heritage South; her interest in living heritage and history told by the people who have lived it is reflected in her role as interviewer for the Southland Oral History Project. Heritage South trustee since 2016.

David Dudfield
TRUSTEE
David has worked in museums and the heritage sector since 2005, including curatorial roles at Southland Museum and Art Gallery. His passion for visual storytelling is evident in his work through Pouākai Films, with a body of work that includes The Last Tour, a project partnered with Heritage South. Heritage South trustee (for a second time) since 2022.

Fraser Pearce
TRUSTEE
Involved with the Thornbury Vintage Tractor and Implement Club for over 30 years, with a recent leadership role in developing its Rural Heritage Centre and exhibitions. Fraser will bring his knowledge and passion for rural history to the Heritage South Trust.

Jenny Campbell QSM
TRUSTEE
Environmental activist; journalist; cultural heritage through her Ngai Tahu whakapapa; leadership role in Forest & Bird Southland Branch; Eco-Fest; heritage trails; interviewer Southland Oral History Project. Heritage South trustee since 2012.

Katie Greene
TRUSTEE
Masters in Museums & Heritage Practice from Victoria University; Programmer - NZ Curriculum at the Invercargill Public Library; 9 years experience in the Heritage Sector; Heritage volunteer work includes creation of a heritage trail with South Alive in South Invercargill. Heritage South trustee since 2023.

Lisa Imamura
TRUSTEE/MINUTES SECRETARY
Objects conservator with focus on anthropological collections and preventive conservation. Southlander since 2022 and Heritage South Trustee since 2023.

Senga White
Senga is an educator, storyteller and podcaster with a love of learning and reading, having spent 25 years working in libraries. She puts her passion and energy into life-long learning paths and sharing the stories of Invercargill and Southland’s social history. She brings all these skills to her role as heritage projects manager for Heritage South. Scottish by birth, Senga grew up in the South, spending much of her life in Invercargill.

Rosie Stather
Rosie is the coordinator of the Southland Oral History Project, a position she has held since 2018. In addition, Rosie has volunteered with a number of charitable organisations in Invercargill since moving here from Auckland in 2011. In particular she has helped groups develop funding strategies and has assisted with submitting funding applications. Rosie brings this expertise to Heritage South.

Maree Haggerty
Maree has an extensive background in administration and IT, with roles as IT Systems Leader, Software Consultant and Trainer. She brings these skills to Heritage South in her role as Executive Assistant, helping onboard the team with their new Google Workspace. Maree is passionate about local history and founded the Otatara Memories Facebook page.
